Queen B Quilting & Craft is a machine quilting and craft workshop business based in Melbourne Australia, owned and operated by Emma Baumann.
Emma started teaching various craft workshops shortly after she was married in 1996 when she formed the group Knot Just Daisy's (first known as A Stitch In Time). Knot Just Daisy's was and still is about passing on the traditions from days of olde. Another of the foundations of the group is not passively 'finding the time' to do this, the time is there, we're about actively 'taking the time' to create heirlooms of the future today.
After having children Emma realised how difficult it can sometimes be to get to workshops and how inhibitive the cost of equipment can be, especially if you only want to try something new. A friend came up with the concept of taking the workshops to the people!
Emma likes to be part of every stage of a project right to the end. She does her own framing, has made most of her soft furnishings and after taking up patchwork and quilting the desire to set up a short arm machine quilter was the next step. 'Nellie' (the short arm quilt machine) joined the family in October 2003, Emma's main aim for Nellie was to enable her to finish her own quilts herself, she now also does machine quilting for others.
These foundations of taking the time to pass on traditions and skills by bringing the workshop to you and helping you say those words "I made it myself" lead to Queen B Quilting & Craft.
A Queen Bee by definition is a woman in a position of leadership, I'd like to think I can lead you to 'take the time' to find and/or believe in your skills and to broaden your life's enjoyment through them.
